Always Be Mine by Neha Daraad : Book Review
Always Be Mine is a Romance
novel by Neha Daraad, published by Inspire India Publishers.
The story is a first person
narrative of a guy named Arjun. The beginning is quite intriguing and, to a
large extent, gripping as well. The story,
in the first few chapters, seems to flow smoothly with bits of ups and downs in
the protagonist’s life in between. Then, in the middle, everything happens so
perfect to Arjun, that when problems begin between him and his love, Aakansha,
it appears somewhat illogical—almost unreal. The end is quite convincing, but
the story could have been better with a little more effort.
I felt a lack of editing and
proofreading throughout the book, which is not something for which an author
can be held responsible. The author is only responsible for the quality of
story, purity of language and, of course, the correct balance between the two. I
feel that – since this is debut work of the author – Always Be Mine tells a
pretty decent story. The style of writing sometimes disappoints, and, at
places, the narrator expresses same feelings over and over again.
Overall, the book is almost
like many Romance novels coming out from debut authors, but at the same time,
it is different in many respects. I suggest this book to people who love reading
Romance and are at the initial stage of reading novels.
